Alright, above I have a video on the packaging for the product and I've already reviewed this anime on IMDB, so I'm going to post the review here and then review the packaging/amazon below it:

    *********

I have never been an easy person to please. This series did just that. I do not know where to begin with the series. I marathoned the entire series because I just couldn't stop watching from the beginning. I loved it so much that this is the first review I have written for any movie/show.

This has a very unusual plot line without a doubt, however, I am of the opinion that if the plot had not been as unusual as it was (wolves appearing as humans, searching for paradise) that viewers wouldn't have gotten quite the same feeling from the show, it's sort of hard to describe. I went into this thinking I would be watching an unusual action flick that simply wanted to grab audiences by saying: "look we have wolves in our story!"... Read more

Wolf's Rain is an anime that describes the adventures of four wolves in a post-apocalyptic setting who can take the shape of human beings to hide from people. The artwork is dazzling: detailed, well-animated wolves running through surreal, futuristic landscapes are breathtaking to watch. The musical score, composed by the deservingly well-reputed Yoko Konno, is haunting and bittersweet. And the plot is a tense, riveting roller-coaster ride, containing touching moments and wise messages too multi-faceted to be summarized in words. I can't remember a story that touched me in the same way Wolf's Rain did.

The four main wolf characters in this story conceal themselves as humans, for they are being hunted by many sinister forces. With the help of a creation known as Cheza, they are searching for a fabled land where they can be free to be themselves again without fear. Their yearning for this place carries them on. Throughout their travels, they encounter many... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Series, Terrible Packaging, June 26, 2009
This review is from: Wolf's Rain: Anime Legends - Perfect Collection (DVD)
Wolf's Rain is one of the better series in anime. Lots of deeper meaning, beautiful animation...
The only real problem I had with this boxed set was the flimsy plastic that held it together. I'm not sure how they fit a 7 disc set into it honestly. It arrived with a piece that held it together broken off inside. Also, the outer box had a crack in it. Besides Ebay, you can't beat getting this whole series for 35 dollars, but be aware of the possible poor condition it may come in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Romantic comedy of godlike proportions, August 17, 2010
This review is from: Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Anime Legends) (DVD)
The first season of "Haruhi Suzumiya" is guaranteed to cheer you up with cute sexual innuendos, scientific mumbo-jumbo and a symbolic religious message hidden underneath the fan service.

The show is based on an oddball story, focusing on a high school boy named Kyon, who meets an unusual high school girl named Haruhi Suzumiya. The girl is a strange firebrand, who is more interested in aliens, espers (psychics) and time travelers than in actual humans. Somehow, Kyon strikes up an unusual friendship with this girl.

However, Kyon never planned on getting involved with starting up Haruhi's own club, the S.O.S. Brigade. The club's mission is to spread happiness around the world, through all the fetishes that anime geeks would love. Aliens. Psychics. And an adorable time traveler girl with big breasts. The show pretty much covers all of Kyon's experiences with Haruhi, the bossy dominatrix who may have mysterious powers of her own.

Although it is hard... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great series, debatable episode orders ~, October 19, 2011

I just wanted to put this out there. The episodes are ordered more along the lines of the light novel. But the ultimate conclusion occurs very early in the series, and the remaining episodes were televised in Japan in the middle of the series as 'filler' episodes. Meaning they did not move ahead the central story arc, but served to develop characters and have self contained plots in stand alone episodes.

The series is great. I have not watched the English dub because I am a huge fan of the quality of the Japanese voice acting in this series. It is a romantic drama/comedy, but one with a lot of 'supernatural' events and powers. Animation quality is fluid and clean. Sound is excellent. Often the translation for the subtitles is questionable, but it doesn't really detract overall. They are pretty spot on for the most part.

I would say that this is one of the must own romantic comedy/drama series of the past few years (along with School Rumble) and I am... Read more

This review is from: Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Anime Legends) (DVD)
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is one of the most random but also one of the more popular comedic anime series. The storyline surrounds Suzumiya Haruhi establishing an organization that seeks to find & solve any mysteries lingering around the city. The plot is random in the flow of the storyline & appears to be convoluted to deceive the viewer in what to expect or predict in the upcoming scenes. Overall, very comedic & random with fan service as an added bonus.
The voice acting is right on target with the characters feeling more lively & personalities conveyed more effectively with reality. The dialogue is a typical high school peer to peer conversation but with randomness & unusual behaviour.
I recommend this anime series to anime fans.
      Thanks.

I don't want to rag on the show too much because it is decent. Its got great atmosphere, an interesting premise, and some interesting character designs and personalities for the main cast. The problem comes in that Chaos;Head starts off strong with an intriguing mystery and bizarre behavior from the main character, but it fails to deliver any sort of satisfaction with its conclusion. The science is poorly explained, the main villain comes almost out of nowhere, and it isn't ever made clear what some of the characters' connections to the main plot or sub-plots were. The main problem with Chaos;Head is a lack of focus. If they had trimmed down the number of characters and steered the story to follow the main protagonist more often, then this would have been far more enjoyable. I still think people should watch this show, but I can't really recommend a purchase.

This review is from: Chaos;Head: The Complete Series (Limited Edition, Blu-ray/DVD Combo) (Blu-ray)
I would say that this show is for at least older teenagers. The cover blurp would have you think that the reason is violence. BTW, the main on-screen violence is in the first episode and the last two. I believe that the real reason is that it is ostensibly about a delusional, psychotic teenager whose delusions become real. In addition, other people also have delusions, and the delusions have delusions. The result is that in order to properly follow the story, you need to be able to follow what is real and what isn't. Otherwise you will end up being very confused.

The story opens with our hero, a teenage otaku, who is living in a metal shipping crate on the roof of a building. He has a sister who visits him periodically, but he spends most of his time with his delusional anime girl-friend. He periodically goes to school. If he isn't gaming, he is doing on-line chatting with his friends. As the story opens there have been two sets of murders. The pace takes off when someone... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent show, but should have been longer, December 2, 2011

This review is from: Chaos;Head: The Complete Series (Limited Edition, Blu-ray/DVD Combo) (Blu-ray)
This show is definitely worth watching, as its story and character development are fantastic. The show starts off strong, has a great middle portion, and then just sort of.. ends. They build up too many characters to end the show in as few episodes as they did, if the show had been more focused on fewer characters, or had been significantly longer in order to come to a fitting conclusion for such a fantastic build up, this show would be up there with the likes of Ghost Hound and Serial Experiments: Lain.

All in all, if you are a fan of the science/mystery/suspense genre of anime I definitely suggest watching this. But if you have not seen them I absolutely recommend watching Lain, Ghost Hound, and Dennou Coil above this.
