Yu Yu Hakusho: The Movie (1993) was produced after the first season of the popular fantasy-adventure, when 14-year-old Yusuke Urameshi was still acting as a "spirit detective," tracking down evil spirits prowling the human world, rather than the Dark Tournament brawler he became later. Just as he and Kuwabara are about to set a record for punching out rival gang members, Botan carries them off for an emergency assignment. A giant demon has kidnapped Koenma and is demanding King Yama's golden seal as a ransom. The seal is required to authenticate all divine judgments: if the demon gets it, he can throw the human and spirit worlds into chaos. Aided by Kuwabara, Heie, and Kurama, Yusuke pounds the mochi out of an array of evil demons in a series of Dragon Ball Z-style battles. At just 30 minutes, the "Movie" feels like a lost episode from the broadcast series. The Eizuo Hakusho (1994-1995) music videos combine bits of new animation with repurposed footage from the series; Mu Mu Hakusho is a series of miniature nightmares in which Yusuke dreams he's married to Botan. Fans of Yu Yu Hakusho will be delighted to get this material, which has never been released in America. However, even the most die-hard fan will recognize that the material is pretty slight--and could easily have fit on one disc. (Rated TV PG: violence, minor profanity) --Charles Solomon

    REVISED REVIEW

So, this product hasn't been listed very long. Except for "Golden Seal" (which was previously dubbed by another company), I have not viewed this product in English. All I can do for now is tell you what I know about the Japanese equivalent of this product. I will update this review when I get more information.

    THE MOVIE: GOLDEN SEAL

WARNING: You may have seen a Yu Yu Hakusho / Ninku double feature listed on Amazon. DON'T BUY THAT VERSION. That is the old version, dubbed by another company with different voice actors and less creative script writers. As a result, it is almost universally considered awful.

--This is called a movie, but it's actually the same length as an episode from the TV series. It even has the same opening and ending theme sequences (in this case it's the second season's ending theme, "Sayonara Bye-Bye").

--The plot is self-contained, so you won't have to watch another episode for the big... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars A solid way to cap of your YYH collection with only one flaw, December 3, 2011
This review is from: Yu Yu Hakusho: Eizou Hakusho OVA (DVD)
As with my previous reviews for other Yu Yu Hakusho products, I'm going to assume that you already know about the show etc. This set includes a plethora of material that adds onto the conclusion of the Yu Yu Hakusho T.V. anime series, though not all of this material is dubbed. All of the Funimation cast members have returned to voice their parts, including the voice actor for Toguro and the voice actress for Kuwabara's Sister, and they all sound pretty good.

Items that are dubbed and also have the original Japanese audio with subtitles are on disc 1:
*The "Yu Yu Hakusho Opening and Closing Encyclopedia" which has scenes that take place after the series. (all of the Kenji is intact here)
*"Eizou Hakusho I" scenes from the dark tournament & anti-piracy clips, "Eizou Hakusho II" Anti-piracy & Nightmare Hakusho clips. (all of the Kenji is intact here also)
*The first Yu Yu Hakusho movie, known by fans as "The Golden Seal" (Kenji has been replaced with English... Read more

I found it good for the overall geek needing to complete the collection deal but for actual quality, the dub voices where out on a hike. Sabat sounded like he just finished a DBZ ep. Cook and Burgmeier were the only two I found sounded like the original dubbing of the series. For the price, it should have been $20 for the lack of minutes overall.
